The Craft Program at Warren Wilson College (WWC) strives to take a leadership role in the advancement and understanding of craft and material arts as related to the College’s mission: to combine academics, work and service in a learning community committed to environmental responsibility, cross-cultural understanding and the common good.

In the spirit of community collaboration, Eric Baden, WWC’s Director of Craft Programming, artist, and professor of photography at Warren Wilson College, gathered a dedicated and passionate team of creative individuals to help develop photo+craft, including:

Ann Batchelder, former editor of Fiberarts Magazine, curator and creative consultant

Colby Caldwell, artist, curator, and founder of REVOLVE

Erin Castellan, painter and textile artist; Art Department Coordinator at Warren Wilson College

Bridget Conn, photographic artist, educator, and founder/director of The Asheville Darkroom

Anna Helgeson, artist, writer, educator, curator

Once the initial photo+craft program was established, energy and interest within the Asheville creative community mounted. Numerous local arts and cultural organizations are participating in photo+craft making this event a unique opportunity to explore and celebrate the role of photography and craft in the 21st century.
